NeoVolta’s NV14: The Best Solar Battery Backup System for Client Homes

In the past, panel-only solar setups were all homeowners wanted and needed. But if you’re a solar installer, you know that those same homeowners are now in need of a more comprehensive solution – one that can store the energy they garner throughout the day for reduced electricity costs, power during outages, and the perks of an “always-on” lifestyle.

However, with all of the options on the market, it can be difficult to choose the right solar battery to add to your product mix. Should you go with lithium-ion? Lithium iron phosphate? A modular design?

At NeoVolta, we believe in offering the safest, longest-lasting option to solar homeowners, which is why we’ve designed a fire-safe LiFePO4 battery that lasts 50% longer than lithium-ion competitors on average, alongside a handful of other key benefits.

Why NeoVolta’s NV14 is the Best Solar Battery Backup System for Client Homes

As a solar installer, you understand the value of offering a comprehensive solar setup for your homeowner clients. They already have the panels, but without a storage element to complement them, your customers won’t reap the true benefits of energy independence and reduced electric bills.

For these reasons, a growing number of homeowners are opting for the reliability and savings that solar batteries like NeoVolta’s NV14 offer. However, it’s important to choose the right battery for your customers. One that’s high-performing, long-lasting, flexible, and doesn’t run a risk of overheating and combustion.

High Capacity & Expandability

NeoVolta’s NV14 has a high storage capacity of 14.4 kilowatt hours (kWh), notably higher than the average solar battery capacity of 10 kWh.

This increased capacity means the NV14 can power select rooms and appliances for much longer, and further save your customers on peak demand and net metering fees. The NV14 can power lights, appliances, AC systems, medical equipment, home offices, and even more with the addition of our NV24 battery add-on.

When combined with the NV24 battery add-on, your customers can boost their NV14 battery’s capacity from 14.4 to 24 kWh – making it one of the highest-capacity home solar storage systems on the market. With this additional energy that can be stored for later use, this paired system can further reduce monthly utility bills and offer even longer-lasting backup power during extended outages.

No Thermal Runaway Keeps Your Customers Safe

When it comes to the household, no risks should be taken – such as placing a potentially combustible lithium-ion battery on the side of your customer’s homes.

Unlike lithium-ion, LiFePO4 batteries pose no risk for thermal runaway, meaning your customers will never be in danger of a house fire while using their NV14. The system contains overcharge protection and temperature regulation, ensuring that your homeowner clients are safe and sound.

50% Longer Lifespan Than Lithium-Ion Options

The NV14’s unique lithium iron phosphate chemistry, along with being virtually fireproof, is also far longer lasting than most lithium-ion competitors.

LiFePO4 batteries have a lifespan of 16.5 years, or 6,000 power cycles, while lithium-ion batteries last 10.95 years, or 4,000 cycles on average. There’s also no maintenance required once installed, and each purchase comes with an industry-standard 10-year warranty or 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.

AC & DC Coupling Enables Solar Off the Grid

AC coupling means that the system takes AC solar. This means the solar panel inverts power to AC, however, it must be converted to DC prior to being stored in an energy storage solution (ESS).

DC coupling means that the system takes DC solar panels directly which charges an ESS, but this power must be converted to AC to be used in a home or by the Utility.

In other words, NeoVolta’s NV14 is capable of seamlessly integrating both AC & DC coupling without separate inverters or battery. This is the advantageous union between solar and an effective energy storage solution. Simply put – energy is collected, inverted, then stored. Energy independence gives your homeowner clients the flexibility to harness the power of solar without having to rely on grid power.
